Crime: Plateau Police Command, warns the public to be wary of one chance operators
The Plateau State Police Command under the leadership of CP Edward Egbuka in its renewed commitment and unrelenting efforts to reduce crime and criminality to the barest minimum in the State as its core mandate remains unequivocal and unwavering

In a statement signed by ASP Ubah Gabriel Ogaba Plateau State Command Public Relations Officer the Command wishes to inform residents and the good people of the State to be wary of criminal activities of ‘ONE CHANCE’ Operators, cultists, car snatchers, armed robbers and other criminal elements in the State.

ASP Ogaba also reveals that the ‘ONE CHANCE’ syndicates are criminals operating under the guise of commercial taxi drivers, tricyclists or private vehicle operators to pick unsuspecting commuters along the road, convey them to secluded places and dispossess them of their belongings, often at gun point or through the use of drugs and other weapons.  They are not registered with any Road Transport Union; they use unregistered vehicles to operate outside designated Motor Parks.
It is on this note, the Command wish to advise commuters to be carefully observant and endeavor to board vehicles at designated parks in the state as intelligence gathered revealed that these syndicates always station their unregistered vehicles with fake number plates at different points within the city center, where they pick unsuspecting road users.

He also disclosed that the Commissioner of Police hereby assures residents and members of the public of more deployment of Police personnel to enhance visibility/community policing across the state to combat crime.
