The Chairman Plateau Legacy Group, who is the Member Representing Pankshin Kanke and Kanam Federal Constituency in the green Chamber of the National Assembly Abuja, and also the Chairman House Committee on Navy Rt. Hon. Yusuf Adamu Gagdi stated that the Plateau Legacy Group purchased the form to Gov. Lalong to contest for Senate in the forthcoming 2023 general election under the platform of the ruling All Progressives Congress APC by different people of likemind who believe in the political ideology of His Excellency Simon Bako Lalong.

Gagdi in a brief interview he granted media men over the event said the Governor in his magnanimity received the form and have agreed to run for the Senatorial.


He said, aside from Gov. Lalong accepting to run for the Senatorial race, the leaders of the party from the six Local Government Council that made up Plateau South have unanimously adopted him to be the soul candidate of the party. 

Speaking over the composition of the party delegate list, he said it is quite unfortunate that despite having guidelines for people to read and understand what the guideline says, some people doesn't want to read it and know what the guideline says. 

Gagdi called on all those aspiring for one office or the other to do their politics with decorum, just as the Governor Lalong is always saying that in an election one must win and the other will lose and you that lose doesn't mean you are not good to occupy that position no but there is time for everything. 


On his part, the Executive of Chairman Shendam Local Government Council who also double as the Plateau State ALGON Chairman, Hon. Miskoom Alexander Nantuam in his disclosure, stated that the journey toward the actualisation of Gov. Lalong becoming Senator representing Plateau South is very smooth.

Hon. Nantuam called on all aspirants wishing to contest election cut across all partyline to be reminded that leadership come from God, he said it is natural for mankind to aspire into position of leadership. 

But they should never forget that leadership always come from God, therefore he called on all the aspirants and desist from campaign of calumny, believing that all the position they are yearning for, it is only one person that will emerge winner at the end of everything. 

Furthermore, Hon. Nantuam call on the the aspirants to know that leadership that last always come from God, and so shall it be.

Speaking on the endorsement of Gov. S. B. Lalong, Hon. Nantuam stated that it is not a surprise giving his political track record, and the his antecedent as the Executive Governor of Plateau State right from 2015 to date one will be that yes the Governor deserve not only the gesture from the legacy group but he deserve to win the election. 

Hon. Nantuam also in his disclosure stated that Governor who is the longest serving Speaker in the history of Plateau politics, and by the grace of God he is in his seventh year as the Executive Governor and if one look at his achievements in bringing peace on the Plateau, in terms of infrastructural development and human capital development and the cohesion the common Plateau man is enjoying across the state is such that the Governor deserve not to be left behind. 

As a saying says that the reward of hard work is more work and the reward of more work is productivity. 


Also in another development, the Executive Chairman of Mikang Local Government Council of Plateau State, Hon. Augustine Bako, stated that this is a small way for them as members of the legacy group to show appreciation the leader and captain of rescue administration on the Plateau.

Hon. Bako stated Governor Lalong is a very humble leader worthy of emulation, he is a peace loving man and for that the Governor is always working round the clock to see that peace has fully restored on the Plateau.
