Sen. Gyang calls for inclusion of constituency in resettlement housing program
Senator I.D. Gyang has called for the inclusion of communities displaced by violent attacks in Plateau North Senatorial District in the on-going 500 per state Housing Units Resettlement program of the Federal government.

Sen. Gyang made his intention known in a statement signed by Musa Ibrahim Ashoms, his Special Assistant, Media & Protocol, said Senator Gyang made this demand in a letter he took to the Federal Commissioner, National Commission for Refugees, Migrants and Internally Displaced Persons (NCRM&IDPs) in Abuja on Monday, 29/06/2029.

Senator Gyang drew the attention of the Federal Commissioner to the fact that Plateau State which has suffered from violent attacks and displacement of communities since 2001 to date was omitted in the Reconstruction and Resettlement Housing program of the Federal government.

Senator Gyang recommended six displaced communities for the Resettlement Housing Units in the first instance from the following Districts;

1). Gashish District, B/Ladi LGA.
2). Ropp District, B/Ladi LGA.
3). Jol Village, Riyom LGA.
4). Bachi District, Riyom LGA.
5). Kwall District, Bassa LGA
6). Miango District, Bassa LGA.

Receiving Senator Gyang in his office, the Federal Commissioner NCRM&IDPs, Senator Basheer Garba Mohammed took note of the request saying that his Commssion will have to factor Plateau State into the Resettlement Housing program as requested in the letter.
He advised Senator Gyang to liaise with the Plateau State Governor to harmonize the locations recommended for the project.

Senator Basheer, the Federal Commissioner also disclosed to Senator Gyang that his Agency is undertaking a record taking of all Internally Displaced Persons to build a Data Base of Persons with Concern by Name, Location, Phone number, etc across the nation, Plateau State inclusive.
