Ta'agbe attack: PDP playing politics with human lives and that clearly portrays it as a party without deep nense of history-APC
The ruling All Progressive Congress APC in Plateau State, has chided the opposition People's Democratic Party as a party which plays politics with human life and that clearly portrays it as a party without deep nense of history
The APC in a statement made available to News Parrot Newspaper and was signed by Hon. Sylvanus Namang
APC State Publicity Secretary Stated that The press statement credited to the opposition People's Democratic Party as its supposed reaction to the recent Ta'agbe attack by marauding gun men , clearly portrays it as a party without a deep nense of history.
He said, though its so-called reaction is very much belated and therefore a clear after thought, the party should not have raised issues that turn around to be a self-indictment over its poor peace and security records especially between 2007 and 2015 when Plateau State regrettably turned into a killing field due to their principal's unconscionably poor handling of security issues and it read as follows:
2nd December, 2021.
APC PLATEAU STATE CHAPTER, EWAREWAH HOUSE , YAKUBU GOWON WAY ,JOS
THAT PDP UNFORTUNATE STATEMENT ON THE TA'AGBE ATTACK.
The press statement credited to the opposition People's Democratic Party as its supposed reaction to the recent Ta'agbe attack by marauding gun men , clearly portrays it as a party without a deep nense of history.
Though its so-called reaction is very much belated and therefore a clear after thought, the party should not have raised issues that turn around to be a self-indictment over its poor peace and security records especially between 2007 and 2015 when Plateau State regrettably turned into a killing field due to their principal's unconscionably poor handling of security issues.
Our knowledge of the political history of the state remains a quick reminder of how the opposition PDP wreaked havoc on the citizens due to bad governance, misrule and reign of impunity.
The party has forgotten so soon that fateful day on 20th April, 2010 when over 500 people were massacred at Dyemburuk popularly known as Dogo Na Hauwa under the watchful eyes of Jonah David Jang (a PDP Governor and a retired military officer for that matter) who, ordinarily, should have brought his military experience to bear towards putting an end to the endless orgies of violent conflicts that characterised his clueless regime.
He did not seem to lose sleep over this issue which remains one of the darkest days in the history of our State. He bluntly refused to visit the scene of that incident.
He also failed to take practical steps to address the suspicious circumstances that led to the gruesome murder of late Senator Gyang Dantong and Honourable Gyang Fulani both of them a serving Senator and a Member Plateau State House of Assembly respectively.
We are shocked that the opposition PDP has also forgotten so soon that Governor Jang, during his inglorious reign, was more or less like Emperor Nero of the Roman Empire who was playing the lyre when Rome was burning. Plateau people with good memories would recall how Governor Jang relocated to his wife's hometown where he lavishly spent Plateau state funds on their annual cultural festival at a time the state was boiling .
He ruled the state as an island by refusing interventions by both the National Assembly and the Federal Government which were clear lack understanding of the relationship between the federation and the federating units.
The PDP should not play politics with the lives our our people. If it lacks soothing and consoling words for the grieved families and community, we advise that silence is the best option for it instead of its familiar deceptive posture.
Governor Simon Bako Lalong is doing his best to maintain the terribly dislocated peace on the Plateau. What is required is leaders with genuine interest of the state at heart to join hands to take it out of the spade of attacks.
Signed :
Hon. Sylvanus Namang
APC State Publicity Secretary
