“Service is about taking responsibility for what is wrong in the community, and more so, doing something about it.” ―Amanda Troillet

Hon. Na'anlong Daniel the Majority Leader of the Plateau State House of Assembly & member representing Mikang Constituency in the 9th Assembly, most likely had the saying of Amanda Troiliet in mind when he was elected to represent his people in the State Assembly.

Since assuming his office, Hon. Na'anlong left no one in doubt of his unflinching and unflagging determination to solve the problems of his constituents. The lack of educational opportunities was one of his major priorities.

No wonder, Singapore Hall in Tunkus the Headquarters of Mikang Local Government witness an unprecedented crowd as Parents/Guardians, Students, Principals and Teachers of all the Government Senior Secondary Schools all gathered to specially appreciate His Excellency Rt. Hon. Barr. Simon Bako Lalong {KSSG} for supporting their Member to achieve this feat, and also showered accolades on the Majority Leader of the State House of Assembly, Hon. Na'anlong Daniel for being a pillar of support to the development of education in the history of their constituency.

Hon. Na'anlong in his speech, firstly appreciate His Excellency, The Executive Governor of the State Rt. Hon. Barr. Simon Bako Lalong for his leadership style in the State, thereby giving both arms of Government an enabling ground to freely operate and function, and which helped him to bring the dividends of democracy to the people.

He further added that:

“Before the emergence of the APC led administration in Plateau State, the economic realities of my people have overshadowed their educational pursuits resulting in a deficit of students' enrollment especially at the tertiary level. Additionally, unfavourable administrative structures and the sensitive political architecture of the state is skewed to the disadvantage of the people of Mikang. Yet therein exist a large number of youths who are exceptionally brilliant but unable to fund their education. Hence, I initiated the unbridled desire to provide a long-standing solution through my annual Scholarship Scheme.

Hon. Na'anlong recall his challenges in the quest of paying his WAEC fee when he was in secondary school and therefore advised them to use the money being refunded to them judiciously and to shun all sorts of social vices that will be harmful to their lives and future.
