Publicity of NAFEST not poor - Danmanjang 

Hon Dan Manjang is the Plateau state Commissoner for Infotmation in Plateau , he spoke to our correspondent on the forthcoming NAFEST scheduled to hold in Plateau 

Sir what do you have to say as the chairman 2020 NAFEST media and Publicity committee that the event might failed due to poor publicity? 

Manjang - the publicity has not been poor anyway, the publicity subcommittee have gone round some of the media houses, even when it paid a courtesy call on the NUJ exco, we when to went to PRTV, Silverbird the publicity has been good, there are posters and flyers that has been printed. For anybody to say that the publicity is poor that person is not been fair to us is not been fair to government, visitors have stared coming.

Preparation are in top gear to receive visitors, we have organized for live coverage, so if have live coverages and some stuff like that, all round media houses we have done commentaries have been written, we have been in the news for the past one week,  jingles are running and so to say the publicity has not been good and that the event is going to failed is a segment of the imagination of whoever is saying that. 

Arrangements are in top gear to receive our visitors, and we want to assure Plateau people that this matter will be put to rest and our narrative is going to change as a result of this event. 

Sir how true is the issue of you contracting David King of the Silverbird to carry out the publicity which the people are complaining that this event lack publicity?

Manjang - The ministry of tourism and hospitality was the one who constituted the publicity subcommittee and brought in David King as a member and I chair it.

We held several meetings transparently and we are open, and for bloggers David King was saddle with that responsibility. It is surprising that some people are saying David King is my friend, of cause he is my friend this are the kind of things that has been dragging us behind.

I was not the one who constituted this subcommittee, but I can assure you everyday has been carried along even the indigenous bloggers have been carried along through their leadership, has their leadership complaint? Their leadership has not complaint so who are the people complaining? Is a deliberate attempt to give a dog a bad name in other to hang it.

There is nothing that the publicity committee has not done that is hiding, the indigenous bloggers have been involved, and since it is not the leadership of the indigenous bloggers that are complaining, then I will tell you I don't know where this is coming.

The best I can tell you is that is rather unfortunate, some people have this kind of thinking, that the publicity is not good because they are not been carried along
