The disbursement of Micro enterprise enhancement loan scheme to 1000 beneficiaries held Saturday in Jos North Local Government Secretariat.

Speaking during the disbursement exercise, the assistant legislative aid of Haruna Maitala, Philip Adik Asanato revealed "It is a soft loan and it is handled by my principal. Of course we are encouraging them to do the needful.

In a week to come we intend to have an empowerment programme.whether a week or two we shall do that. Before now so many of you might have had we embark upon sponsoring about 1000 students for WAEC, we did same for NECO aside from individual, we put together in groups to carry out different assignment in their endeavours. We have done so much to improve the lives in this Constituency. In a week or two you will see some more!

what we do, we have representatives from wards during the campaign. We have structure right from the ward to the Local Government level. Now in doing and selecting this, for instance this one we do today we concentrate on Youths and women, and in picking them we went as far dawn to the wards. As the matter of fact to some cases we went dawn to the polling units to make sure people feel the impact.

"We might not get it to everybody, we have done our best. We tried to push it to the minimal to where an average constituent feel our impact. The gesture cut across every individual not party line. It is on us to do that!

"This is not the first time like I mentioned we have done WAEC, we did JAMB, we done so many programs, we even sponsored sport competition in Bassa Local Government Area. We tried to see how much we can engage people and we are doing our best.

"All we call our Constituents to do is to shield swords, forget our differences and let put our heads together and give maximum corporation to see how we can move the Constituency forward.

"You would recall few days ago a group Youths in the Constituency came out to Pass the votes of confidence in my principal the reason why they did that is simple, obvious he has touch the lives of many Constituents. I am even aware two or three more groups is coming out soon. So you see he is doing the needful.

"We desire that people should reason with us and come let us work together irrespective of our differences the Constituency is ours. If you have any contribution to make come around our doors is always open for contributions," Asanato concluded.

However, coordinator of NDE, Plateau State,Ibrahim Abba acknowledged that this is one of the foresight of our Director General Dr. Nasiru Ladan. This scheme is specially designed to reach the poorest of the poor in our society.

"What we are expecting is that, by the time they use this small amount of money they will engage in small and medium businesses inside their household. By so doing there will be reduction of poverty in this country, and that people would begin to realise the importance of self-employment.

"There are no condition or any collateral. We don't need any thing other than proper documentation.
They don't need any collateral to collect the loan. There will be time for refunding, they would just use the loan by the time that we are certain, that they may have used the loan we inspire to them.

Some of the beneficiaries; Sati S. Zubairu, a farmer, Hajara Salisu Abubakar, business woman, Mrs. Grace Stephen, business woman and Abubakar Yahaya Abubakar, printer, who spoke to this medium applauded Hon.
