Former PLHA members describe Rt. Hon. Sanda's election as product of extraordinary competence


The APC Forum of former members of the Plateau State House of Assembly have described the election of Yakubu Sanda as Speaker of the Plateau State House of Assembly as a product of divine ordination.


Chairman of the Forum who is also the Chairman of the Plateau State House of Assembly Service Commission Banahel Andong, noted that as stakeholders in the Plateau project and as former members of the house, they are identifying with the speaker over his emergence as number three citizen of the state.


He noted that, the choice of Yakubu Sanda is a product of extraordinary competence anchored on his versatile skills to lead and carry everyone along.


The forum while praying for success to the New Speaker, particularly in cementing the already frosty relationship between the Executive and Legislative, they unequivocally reiterated their openness to working closely with the house leadership towards a greater result-oriented parliamentary responsibility.


Benahel Andong, used the forum to appeal to the speaker to reconsider lifting the suspension imposed on six serving law makers in the spirit of no victor no vanquish from recent misunderstand caused by leadership change in the house.


The Speaker Yakubu Sanda, while appreciating the visit of the forum, noted that they are indeed true stakeholders and democrats who believe in the unity of the parliamentary institution.


Sanda, noted that, the house will stand against any individual or group interest that are inimical to the unity, peace and development of the state, adding that the state belong to all, hence the need to close ranks and sustained it integrity and unity.


The speaker noted that the house will continue to seek their wise counsel in legislative matters, considering their vast wealth of experiences as legislators who have contributed to the sustenance of the legislative system over the years.

The house speaker while assuring of operating an open door Leadership and uniting his colleagues to forged a common ground for the development of the state, equally indicated the house readiness to work with the Executive and Judiciary in bring about a purposeful legislative frame work for the actualization of government lofty programmes and projects.

On hand to received the delegation of APC Forums of former members of the Plateau State House of Assembly at the Speaker’s Lodge are the Deputy Speaker Salleh Yipmong and other principle officers of the house.

In the same vain, the speaker Yakubu Sanda, played host to a delegation of Bassa Muslim political forum where they throw their support to the leadership of the State Assembly.


Leader of the delegation Alhaji Adam Yakubu expressed confidence on the ability of the Speaker to lead the house,s in-view of his vast experience in the legislative business and an Administrator.

Responding, the speaker Yakubu Sanda, who expressed delight over the visit, assured the group, that, the house will continue to work for the interest and unity of Plateau.


Sanda, noted that, the house will not allowed the peace and development of the state to be compromise because of individual or group selfish interest and called on the people to support the house success on its mandate.
