PLASU takes delivery of additional classrooms and offices.


Plateau State University, Bokkos has added another structure to its physical infrastructure following the handing-over of the Faculty of Social Sciences building by Liskebe Konsults construction firm.

Public Relations Officer disclosed that while receiving the Faculty building, Vice Chancellor of the University, Professor Yohanna Izam commended Liskebe Konsults for delivering quality and standard job despite the delay associated with the contract which started in 2005 but was abandoned without asking for variation from the University when the new management reactivated the project on assumption, saying the University is happy with the quality of work executed by the company.

He revealed that the building is made up of 10 classrooms and over 20 offices which would go along in addressing the problem of shortage of office accommodation and lecture rooms in the University stressing that it will also assist the University in ensuring that students and have proper space in line with the Covid-19 safety protocols as outlined by NCDC and government.

He noted that part of the agitations the local branch of ASUU raised recently was inadequate lecture rooms and office accommodation in the University stressing that with the official handing over of the Faculty of Social Sciences such agitations were being addressed and appealed to both students and staff to handle the facility with care.

Speaking earlier, the representative of Liskebe Konsults, Mr. Kupan J. Danmaryam appreciated the University for giving the opportunity to prove their worth by executing a project.

In their separate remarks, Dean Faculity of Social Sciences, Professor Paul Wai, President of the Students’ Union Government (SUG), Comrade Ezekiel Lautai assured the Vice Chancellor that they will faithfully use the facility and protect it from damage while promising quality delivery of academic excellence.

In a vote of thanks, Registrar of the University, Amos I Mallo who was represented by the Deputy Registrar Academic Affairs Mr Yakubu Ayuba applauded the Federal Government, particularly the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) for investing on the Plateau State University and other tertiary institutions in the country and commended Liskebe Konsults for delivering a quality and standard project to the University.
