Opinion: Which way Plateau PDP

It’s absurd and ludicrous the dramas unfolding in Plateau state PDP. It is a game of power play and impunity. It all started in some Local Government Area (LGA) and WARD congress where series of permutation and calculation ensue. All that, is a bid for who wins what in 2023. Series of cabal gang up to outsmart the weak and vulnerable. No more due process. The constitution doesn’t matter. Politicians have forgotten that power comes from God who takes one up and brings one down. The opinion of their kinsmen doesn’t matter anymore; they’ve conceived a perception of using their kinsmen on their chessboard of manipulation and intrigues, making everyone a pawn and giving relevance to only their stooges as officers. Azik of Africa said; those unscrupulous and unscrutinize elements fail to know that peace without justice is a time BOMB. Suffice me to say that in an egalitarian society, progress is regarded as a collective success whereby the torch bearer is not an island onto himself but he accrues the progress to his kinsmen. Same incontrovertible concept is outplaying in the Plateau State PDP EXCO whose tenure has elapsed on 10th may 2020,  And base on section 47(1) of PDP constitution 2017 as amended; which allow the executive to run for a period of 4 years in one tenure; after which PDP will constitute caretaker committee for the next election, but the outgone EXCO led by Hon Chocho Yakubu whose tenure has since elapse on the aforementioned date has scandalously assumed the role of caretaker committee, that is; being a Judge in their own case. which is an aberration.

We call on them to honorably resign and give way for a legit caretaker committee.  

Martin Luther King jnr said; An injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere. I hope they will take a cue from Kogi, Kwara and Benue states who has put a caretaker committee in place and already planning for Elections.  I call on the former state PDP excos to honorably accept their fate as ex-excos or former excos of PDP for the newly appointed caretaker chairman Hon Nandom Ishaku Pyenap (Exo) and his EXCOS to settle down and plan for the Plateau State 2020 PDP  election.
