The Caretaker Committee State Secretary of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) Plateau State Chapter, Hon. Engr. Godwin W. Bedir has call on the leadership of the party under the Chairmanship of Prince Uche Secondus to as a matter of urgency checkmate the excesses of the National Organizing Secretary toward his act of violating the constitution provision of the party. 

Hon. Bedir who made the call in an interview with this medium said, the major political crisis rocking the Plateau State chapter of the party is cause by the internal memo of the National Organizing Secretary to the Chairman seeking for the approval of tenure elongation of the past State officials.

Furthermore, the State party scribe accused the National Organizing Secretary of his action, saying there is no provision in the constitution of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) where it arrogate power to the national organizing secretary to appoint state party officials whatsoever.

He said, the only people who have the constitutional right to appoint or to dissolve state officials in the constitution of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) is the National Chairman or the National Secretary. So how can someone in his right senses will be moving about happily that he is appointed by someone who doesn't have the power to appoint. He ask? 

Hon. Bedir speaking over the suspension and facing of disciplinary committee set up by Hon. Gwot Chocho Committee, he said how can an out gone officials suspend the incumbent Excos, these are former officials of the party who have their tenure ends exactly on the 10, May, 2020. 

Hon. Bedir also shared more light on the process of suspending an erring member in the party, which has to pass through the state executive council meeting, a motion most be move and the allegation against the erring member most be mention to the expanded executive members.

He said, how can a disciplinary committee be inaugurated by only four people, in fact it may interest you to know that there are some people among the former officials who approach and inform us that they are fully behind us because as far as reality is concern their tenure has elapsed and they don't want to do anything contrary to the party's constitution he said. 

Furthermore, Hon. Bedir frown at the matter which the former officials want to remain in office as all of them wants to recontest for the same office their tenure elapsed, he said what be the fate of those contesting for the same office with them.

He said, already there are series of issues surrounding the former officials ranging from wards to local government congress whereby different candidates win their congress but coming to the state secretariat they got their names change with candidates of their choice.
