APC bigwigs Chair urges former PDP colleagues to defect for democratic values

•Canvasses support for Nentawe Yilwatda

Chairman of the All Progressive Congress (APC) Bigwigs in Plateau State, Saleh Mandung Zazzaga, has called on his colleagues in the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state to join the ruling and winning party, APC, so that they would not miss out of the dividends and democratic values which others are currently enjoying.

Zazzaga made the call in Jos the Plateu State capital while addressing newsmen on the choice and quality of the APC gubernatorial candidate, Nentawe Yilwatda, and why the APC will win the 2023 governorship election.

The Bigwigs chairman said he was formerly in the PDP until in 2015 when he defected to the APC, and since the he has been instrumental to the growth of the APC in several fronts.

According to him, there are many of his former colleagues in the PDP who are politically brilliant and hardworking, but hardly get any benefit from their polical activities and commitment to the PDP, stressing that it will be in such people's own interest to come to the APC and join hands with him and other party leaders so that they can emerge victorious in 2023, and thereafter enjoy the attendant democratic values along with their wards.

He said soonest many people from different political parties would be decamping to the APC and would be received/welcome enmass, but that before then he is using this opportunity to reach out to his former colleagues in the PDP to join the APC now, and that he would facilitate their coming in honourably and respectfully.

"Some of my colleagues and political associates who have remained in the PDP have been abandoned and they are just wondering in the political wilderness. And most of those colleagues are very intelligent and are political juggernauts who worked tirelessly for the entrenchment of democracy and building the strong political structures in Plateau State."

"Unfortunately, those my colleagues have not been enjoying political dividends to commensurate with their efforts and contribution. That is why I am calling on them to join me in the ruling party, APC, so that they can bring in their wealth of knowledge to work together with the other dogged leaders, members and supporters of the party."

"If they join the APC, they will not only enjoy the dividends of their political efforts, but their, the communities and the state at large would be better for it because APC is the party with a progressive outlook, party for the grassroots and party that accommodates all and sundry and give them the opportunity to flourish and attain their political goals."

"It is as a result of this that many people are planning to defect from other political parties to the APC ahead of the 2023 general elections. Before that happens, I want to use this opportunity to reach out to my former colleagues at the PDP so that they can join the winning team (APC), and I promise to facilitate their coming to the APC, and they will be executively and warmly welcome by the leadership of the party," he said.

On the candidature of the Plateau APC governorship flagbearer, Nentawe Yilwatda, Zazzaga said without doubt Yilwatda the candidate to beat, pointing out that his pedigree shows he is just the man for the job. He added that Yilwatda is also a sincere enthusiast for the growth of the state and its citizens.

He called on on the party supporters to intensify their campaing and other political strategy so that Yilwatda will emerge with a landslide victory and continue with the task of developing the state.

He thanked governor Simon Lalong for focused and inclusive style of leadership which has not only advanced the state buy had brought joy to many and hope for the hopeless.
