The Wife of Taraba State Governor,  Dr. Anna Darius Ishaku has advocated support to enhance education sector in the country.

The Governor's wife who was represented by Mrs. Christiana Tanko Audu, said this at a two-day seminar organised by Hope Afresh Foundation Taraba in Jalingo.

Mrs Tanko explained that to sustain better results in education sector, all hands must be on deck to excel.

She appreciated stakeholders for availing themselves at the seminar as well as the students drawn from various school in the state.

In her speech, Administration officer Hope Afresh Foundation Taraba, Suzy Basho Ali said education is one of basic criteria to measure the growth and development of any nation. She lamented that one in every five of the world's out of school children is in Nigeria, describing it as a bad omen.

Also in a presentation, Press Secretary to the Governor's wife, Mercy Gbashi urged students to embrace digital means of acquiring knowledge.

She remarked that the advent of technology has lessen burden on how students will access information they need to know.

The Monitoring and Evaluation Officer of Hope Afresh Foundation Taraba, Sarah David Ibi who delivered a paper on Gender Based Violence and Education, defined  Gender Based Violence as any harm or suffering that is perpetrated against a woman, girl, man or boy and has a negative impact on the physical, sexual, psychological health development or identity of the person.
