The majority leader of the Plateau State House of. Assembly Presents the newly elected Speaker of the House to His Excellency Rt. Hon. Dr. Simon Bako Lalong in Old Government House in company of the house Principal officers.
The New Speaker and

Principal officers to intimate them on the new change of gaurd at the legislative arm.

The Majority leader Hon Daniel na’anlong while addressing the Governor who was able represented by the SGG Prof Danladi Abok Atu relayed the proceedings of the house. 

At about 8 o’clock this morning we were at the chambers To seat and legislative over affairs of Plateau State,in the Process the house established enough reasons to impeach the Speaker Rt Hon Ayuba Abok and it is with the Constitutional requirements of 2/3 majority” Naanlong stated.

A new speaker emerged and was immediately sworn in.

It is theTradition of the house to come to the seat of power to introduce the new speaker of PLHA,That is why we are here your Excellency Hon Naanlong reiterated.

Hon Daniel Naanlong gave two two reasons for the impeachment of the erthswhile Speaker.

  1. Gross incompetence
  2. Financial misappropriation.

Naanlong further explained that Details will be given for press to investigate as part of their responsibility to ascertain the veracity of the conduct of the former speaker.

“We want to appreciate God for making another history in the house and I want to sincerely thank my colleagues for challenging me to lead them,We will collaborate with the executive to give good governance to the people”.

While responding to questions by journalist the Majority leader cleared the air on members present at the house during the impeachment.

” We have both PDP and APC members present,It is on tape 16 members signed the impeachment to meet up the
2/3 majority as a requirement by Constitution submitted to the clerk for confirmation.” Naanlong reechoed.
