Gov. Lalong  assures Plateau citizens of his determination to complete all ongoing projects before 2023


The Plateau State Governor, Rt. Hon. Simon Bako Lalong has assured Plateau citizens of his readiness and total determination to Complete all Ongoing Projects before the expiration of his tenure come May, 29,2023.

The Governor personally made the cheering news on Saturday 20th, March 2021, at the Victoria Gowon Multi purpose hall, while hosting Journalist at a parley to rub-up  the recently embarked media tour of Journalist organized by the Plateau State Ministry of Information, Office of the Directorate of Press to the Governor and the Directorate of Research and Documentation to the Governor for journalist to inspect projects across the 17 Local Government Areas of the state initiated by Lalong's administration


Gov. Lalong while delivering his speech, disclosed that his administration has no plan or intention to leave any ongoing project uncompleted before his tenure ends 2023. 

He further assures the citizens of the State of his total commitment to continue to provide dividends of democracy and also called on the people to cooperate and support to the administration.


Furthermore, Governor Simon Bako Lalong also highlighted some of his achievements which include the construction of 22 Roads cut across 17 local government of the state across the State and the “Lalong Legacy Projects” which focuses on Education and Healthcare infrastructural development.

Gov. Lalong further disclosed that the Legacy Projects which is spread across the 17 local government has being scope from the initial N50 to  about N30 billion due to the covid-19 pandemic. 


He said while the Lalong Legacy Project phase one focuses on education and Health Sectors, while other sectors will be given its proper attention in terms of infrastructural development.

He said while new schools are being built, there is deliberate efforts to renovate those in deplorable condition and employ more Teachers.
The Governor said the State will leverage on the use of Vocational Schools to achieve meaningful development.
He disclosed that as the Chairman of the Northern Governor’s Forum, they are working with the service Chiefs to tackle the insecurity bedeviling the Northern Zone.


He said measures are being put in place to guarantee the security of lives in Schools in the State.
He said security is everyone’s business and should not be left for the security operatives alone.

He said there is need for school pupils and students to be trained on proper security measures.

The Governor said agriculture, mining and tourism are areas the State has comparative advantage and will be properly taken care of with huge investment in security to make them more viable.


He charged communities in the State on peace building in order to attract developmental projects from the State.

There was commendation from the Chairman Nigeria Union of Journalist Mr Paul Jatau, The Chairman Plateau Publishers Association (PPA) Mr Shabul Mazadu, the Chairman Correspondent Chapel, Mr Gyang Bere, and Mr Friday Bako who is the Chairman Bloggers Association Plateau State, and Mr Katdaba Gobum the former Chairman Nigeria Union of Journalist.
