JAY FM Management Visits Plateau Information Commissioner, apologizes for recent fiasco, Seeks for Partnership


The Management of JAY FM, one of the Jos base Radio Station has visited the Plateau State Commissioner for Information and Communication, to apologize to him over the recent fiasco that occurred between the Commissioner and the radio station and to equally Seeks for partnership.

The members of the management were received by Hon Dan Manjang at Ministry's headquarters Joseph Gomwalk Secretariat Jos, the Plateau State capital. 


The leader of the delegation and also the Head of Marketing, Mr. Yusuf Akuetieme,  who was accompanied by Umbung Ferdinand and Jenifer Okoye stated that the purpose of their visit was to apologized to the Commissioner for the recent fiasco that occurred during a live program which featured the Commissioner in the radio station and to equally look for a way forward to addressing some grey areas which requires attention of both parties and to discuss better ways of healthy working relationship and to also seek for partnership for the progress and development of the State as a whole. 

Mr. Akuetieme use the medium to applauded Governor Simon Bako Lalong's administration on its effort toward building lasting peace on the Plateau which also created confidence in the live of Plateau citizens and dislodge fears from citizens in the State. He said citizens now go to communities that hitherto were referred to as “no-go areas” in the past.


He said there is need for synergy between the government and the Station in order to keep the public abreast with government activities and programmes.
He posited that the peace & prosperity of the State is beneficial to all citizens.

In his remark, the Commissioner of Information and Communications, Hon. Dan Manjang who was flanked by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Mr Michael Pam, Director of Information Mrs. Theodora Damulak  and other management staff of the Ministry commended the management of the Radio Station for the visit and revealed that the government needs the media in a symbiotic relationship to propagate its activities to the public for beneficial feedback.


Hon. Manjang further revealed he want to be remembered for having a good relationship with the media by the time he leave office, and by so doing people should always know that government and the media are partners in progress.


He said the media always play a vital roles in societal and national transformation.
He urged the media to adhere to the code of conduct and display high sense of professionalism.

Furthermore, Hon. Manjang reveals that government is doing its best to tackle the issue of insecurity bedevilling the State.
