Dr. Dakum visit Bassa LGA amidst series of endorsement and prayers to succeed ahead of 2023 gurber polls 


It was endorsements galore as Dr Patrick Sunday Dakum visited Bassa Local Government Area of Plateau State on Wednesday 16th February, 2022.


The endorsements started at the first port of call by Dakum and the Consolidation for the Greater Plateau 2023 Team at the palace of HRH Utu Ucho Kuchi, the President of Bassa Traditional Council when HRH the Ogomo Pengana, represented the President of the Traditional Council asked other Royal Fathers present to pray and bless the Plateau State All Progressives Congress(APC) Gubernatorial Hopeful to succeed in the 2023 General Elections.


Earlier Dr Patrick Dakum brought greetings in Jesus name of Nazareth to the people of Bassa and said he came to console with the people of Bassa over the unfortunate situation that faced the good people of the area who were under unprovoked attacks.

Dakum promised to keep praying for the peace, unity and progress of the people of Bassa LGA believing that the God of Justice will find the culprits.


The widely accepted gubernatorial aspirant said in 2018 instead of celebrating his 60th birthday party in a luxurious hotel in Abuja or the USA, he opted to use the funds for the purchase of foodstuffs and essentials and donated same to Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in Bassa, Bokkos and Barkin Ladi LGAs.He celebrated the birthday with children who may become governors, legislators and leaders of the third tier of government.


The Chief Executive Officer of the Institute of Human Virology, Abuja-Nigeria also reminded the people of Bassa that seventeen years ago, he met with some development none governmental organisation who collaborated with him to sink one hundred and twenty boreholes for the water need of the people without knowing that he will come back to need their votes to be the Executive Governor of Plateau State.

Dr Dakum eulogized the traditional rulers for maintaining the peace despite numerous attacks but frowned at the petence paid to them as salaries.He advised that illustrious sons and daughters of each kingdom must respect their rulers by meeting their daily needs.

Responding to the speech of Dr Patrick Dakum, the Ogomo of Pengana, HRH Isawa Mamman Ishaya described Dakum as our Governor tomorrow who spoke sympathetically on the pains of the people of Bassa LGA.

The Ogomo of Pengama frowned at the indiscriminate kidnap and destruction of traditional rulers.He said that the Executive Governor is doing his best as they have become Lalong boys with Dakum as their father who will be victorious at the polls.

The second port of call by the Consolidation for Greater Plateau Team was the office of the Executive Chairman of Bassa LGC at the council secretariat.

In his remarks, Engr Stephen Andy Igmala, the Executive Chairman of Bassa LGC said the competence of Dakum to lead Plateau is not in doubt as his antecedents speak volumes to his advantage in the governorship race.

Igmala pointed out that Dakum leaves a lasting impression in whomever he meets and with the calibre of people in his campaign trail,what are other aspirants still doing being in the race.
The choice group is still intact and will definitely work in favor of Dakum who has paid his dues, hinted the chairman. The Bassa LGC boss promised to deliver delegates to Dakum so that we celebrate his victory in 2023.

The Chairman welcome the idea of a Dakum Peace Football Competition in Bassa LGA to foster peace and unity.


Dr Patrick Dakum in his remarks said it was a privilege to be in the office of the Executive Chairman and hinted that God has put the Chairman in the difficult office for a purpose without any kobo. The economic environment is very harsh yet the electorates will not understand. The Gubernatorial hopeful prayed for the chairman to succeed by directing all Consolidation for Greater Plateau 2023 Team to work for the success of the APC Bassa/JN Federal Constituency bye election on the 26th February, 2022.

The meeting with the APC delegates from the 16th Federal wards in Bassa LGA, theLegislative Arm of the PGA and the APC LGA ExecutiveCouncil all promised to vote Dakum in the party primaries and the general elections.
