Former Chairman Appeals for Support for Dogo Nahawa Community 11 Years After 


The former Chairman of Barkin-Ladi Local Government Council of Plateau State Hon. Jok Alamba has called on both local and international organizations to still look into the condition of the survivors of the 2010 attacks in Dogo Nahawa village.

He made this appealed during the fundraising ceremony by 'Dominion Mind Concept for the execution of an ITC and Tech Hub as well as the renovation of their Clinic held at the community's  LGEA Primary School at weekend in Barkin-Ladi area of Plateau State.

According to him, "A Community that has been devastated and has witnessed the highest level of human brutality and wickedness.


"Consequently, this is a community that has experience hardship and felt highly dejected and hopelessness."

He added, " If not for the intervention and efforts of well meaning individuals and organizations, only God knows what could have happened and what could have been the position of this community today."

Alamba disclosed that the NGOs has been on ground for almost one year in Dogo Nahawa not only to sympathize with the community or give support materials both are doing everything possible to rewrite the history of the community.

For him, the Barkin-Ladi Local Government Council will continued to support the NGO in realizing their objective and vision for the community considering the fact that the project is been champion by young people an indication of greater hope for the state and the country at large.

He commended the community for standing firm even with the experience they had, and called on both government, local and international organizations to revisit the the plight of the community.

The Community leader of Dogo Nahawa, Da. Pam Gyang said "Dogo Nahawa community was attacked by assailants in 2020 and we lost our parents, wives, children and means of livelihood.


"Despite that we did not in anyway retaliate nor chest any body from this community. We believe God is in control and may you continue to pray for us, we thank the NGO that has champion the execution of these projects in our community."

The CEO Dominion Minds Concept Amb. Isaac Bitrus said the NGO is addressing two projects in the community which consist of the building of a Digital Literacy center/Tech Hub and the renovation of the community's only clinic.

The ICT and Tech Hub is to address the issue of adult literacy and for the younger generation to be equipped with the knowledge gap.

Bitrus said the N60 million fundraising is for the execution of the projects designated for the community in honoure of the over 300 persons killed in the Jos-South/Barkin-Ladi boundary communities of Dyemburuk/Hei, popularly known as Dogo Nahawa in 2010 by assailants which the survivors for 11 years now still considered abandoned and neglected.
