Says they will fish out bad eggs within its rank.

The Chief of Defence Staff, General Lucky E. O. Irabor has reiterated the military total commitment toward ending attack and counter attacks on the citizens of Plateau State and beyond. 

Gen. Irabor who reveals that while answering questions from the array of Journalist in Jos, when he paid an official visit to see things for himself of the wanton killings and destruction of property that took place recently in Miango district of Bassa LGA and Yelwa Zagam area Jos North LGA of Plateau State. 

Furthermore the Nigeria Chief of Defense Staff disclosed that under his watch every bad egg within its rank that is bend on giving the military bad name most be fish out to face the full wrath of the principle and ethics guiding the military as in shrine in the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. 

General Irabor also urged the journalists to always use their medium to propagate the message of peace and to avoid reportage that is capable of escalating rhytoric that will be of no benefit to the general public.

He said" as forth estate of the realm, they should begin to see things in the perspective that promote peace ,love amongst the general public where they would have been contributing in bringing of peace on the plateau". 

The no nonsense but very professional soldier who could not hide his feelings over some reportage by some medium on the appointment of the GOC 3 Armour Division Rukuba Barrack, Maj. Gen. Ibrahim Ali who doubles as Commander Operation Save Haven (OPSH) as a deliberate attempt to escalate the crisis on the Plateau.

He said the report is false and further reveals that he was the one that made the recommendation because he want  to combine the resource available to the 3 Division and the STF under one single leadership to be more effective and efficient.

The Defense Chief also disclosed that at the course of the reorganizations,then the unfortunate incident happened, one  can not have house within a house, as it will never be possible to have two captain in one ship. 

He said, the GOC is somebody that have the necessary qualities that can bring to bare the requirement of leading men and women of the military in other to ensure the objective of the Operation Save Haven is achieved.

Gen. Irabor also used the opportunity to appealed to the press to work with the security personnels on ground so as to achieved the required permanent peace on the Plateau.

He equally reiterated the military commitments to do more in respect to early warning and early response mechanism resolution that will be communicated to the journalists in due course.

Also speaking over the issue of self defense been propagated by many people in different quarters, he said self defense consist of one knowing his or her neighbor and to be very sensitive to his immediate environment as one must not have to get sufisicated weapons before defending oneself .

The General also frowned at the news making around that the affected victims of Maingo community of Bassa LGC recorded more casualties due to the military not giving order to go to the scene and to repel the attackers.  

He urgued the journalists to always detached emotions from reality,that any body in the state of helplessness is capable of saying anything in order to elicit pity ,and it behoved on you as journalists to distinguish emotions from that which is factual because is not “We vs Them”kind of situation.

Furthermore the very principle Chief of Defense State also stated that society should not mistake the fact that the military is also part of the society and the value add to the society ,is an instrument of bringing solutions to issues that have to do with violence around us,

He also appealed to journalists not to be buying into the insinuation been spread by helpless people, he said by so doing it is contributing to the demoralization of the security agencies who stake their comfort to ensure peace and tranquility of the nation, as their effort to joint the military is born out of passion for this country.
