We can no longer guarantee the peace of Plateau- Rev. Fr Lubo

The Chairman Christian Association of Nigeria CAN  Plateau State Chapter, Rev. Fr. Polycarp Lubo has disclosed that CAN can no longer guarantee the peace of Plateau with the wanton killings of Christian in the State. 

The Chairman who is the leader of all the Christians on the Plateau made the statement in an interview he granted to Journalist at the Plateau State Specialist Hospital Mortuary were corpses of thirty six (36) Christians  killed in the early hours of today 25 August 2021 deposited. 

Rev. Fr. Lubo condemned the attacked in its totality and said, it is inhumanity to man, and also called on the federal Government under President Buhari to beef up the security on the Plateau, because what is happening it has gone beyond the security personnel on the Plateau. 

He said over fifteen (15) corpses are laying down in the mortuary right now and over twenty were burned down beyond recognition, without anybody saying anything about the killings not even from the Presidency just like the way the Presidency move swiftly to release a press statement just like they did during the last Rukuba road killing. 

Rev. Fr. Lubo further disclosed that what is happening on the Plateau right now is as a result of the statements made by some of the Islamic lyrics, by calling the GOC and STF commander by telling him to call the people to book, and they also said that they are going to retaliate and is what everybody is now seeing. 

He further disclosed that he doesn't know if all people resulted into retaliation will solve the problem of killing on Plateau, because nobody has the monopoly of retaliation. He said Government should know that everybody has the right to defend himself. 

The Plateau Christian leader said life comes from God and they don't want to tell Christians to go on retaliation but every Christian has the right to defend himself

He also reiterated his call to the Federal to as a matter of urgency to look into the killing of Christians just like they did in the issue of the killing of the Muslims in Rukuba road because this one is worst. 

Speaking on if Federal Government is taking side more than the other, he said the way things is happening clearly shows that there some people who are second class, while some are more superior than others whereas of which everyone is human beings created by God in respective of one religion, tribe or background. 

He said he don't see any reason why some people will be protected when they committed crime and also made some utterances of incitement.

The CAN Chairman also call on Christians to intensify their prayers but not with their two eyes close, he pleaded with all Christians to accept what has happened, but they should not tolerate anything further again. 

Because they are tired of telling Christians to be calm, they are tired of telling Christians to be patient, they are tired of telling Christians to be praying, if the people decided to take the law into their hands nobody should blame the Christian leadership
