Plateau Yoruba community condemned incessant killings calls for calm

Yoruba Community , Plateau State Chapter, has joined other groups & meaningful Nigerians to condenm the incessant killings and destruction of properties in Bassa, Riyom , Jos North Local Government Areas & other parts of Plateau which has led to the Loss lives of innocent citizens.

A statement signed by Alh. Abdulhakeen Aka the President General Yoruba Community in Plateau State and made available to this medium stated that the Yoruba Community condemns the recent unfortunate killing in Jebu Bassa & other villages in Irigwe Chiefdom and of commuters along Rukuba Road in Jos North Local Government Area which is sad, unfortunate and regrettable.

A statement by President of the Community, Alh. Abdulhakeen Aka sympathized with families of those who lost their loved ones as a result of these attacks and prayed God to comfort and grant them fortitude to bear the loss.

He called for calm and restraint by all in order for Government and security Agencies to restore peace and order within all the affected areas.

Alh. Abdulhakeem Aka urged Law enforcement Agencies to double their efforts in fishing out all perpetrators of this heinous, dastardly and unprovoked attacks without any form of bias or sentiments as nobody is above the Law.

He expressed his believe in the sanctity of lives and the right of everyone to live, travel and transact there business in peace and noted the commitment of Yoruba Community to working with government and security Agencies for the sustainance of peace and peaceful Co-existence of all.
Meanwhile, the community commended the Executive Governor of Plateau, Rt. Hon. Simon Bako Lalong & various security Agencies for their prompt & swift efforts in fishing out the perpetrators of the barbaric act & asked relevant authorities to make sure that the perpetrators are brought to book no matter their connection or how highly placed they may be. And also commiserated with Governor Akeredolo of Ondo State & all famlies who lost their loved ones.
The Community also pledged to work with other communities & stakeholders to ensure that the message of peace, tolerance and forbearance with one another is demonstrated among its adherence. Alh. Abdulhakeem Aka emphasised that the Yoruba Community will continue prayer for peace and unity in Plateau State and Nigeria at large.
