Plateau Speaker celebrates Gen. Gowon @ 86

Speaker of Plateau State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Abok Nuhu Ayuba, has congratulated the former Nigerian Head of State, General Yakubu Gowon Rtd on his Eighty Six birthday.

The speaker, on behalf of the principal officers, members and staff of the assembly, joined well wishers in felicitating with a Nigerian of great repute and a leader per excellent as he turns eighty six.

In a felicitation message by his Press Secretary, Bulus Atang, the Speaker described General Gowon as a patriotic Nigerian, a nantionalist of high repute, peace builder, an elder statesman and a pious leader who worked to keep Nigeria one.

The Speaker further described General Gowon as a quintessential elder statesman, pillar of strength and a symbol of national unity.

Abok added that the former Head of State served the nation with all sense of love, commitment and dedication.

While appealing to General Gowon to continue to offer Nigeria and Plateau State his wealth of experience and knowledge particularly in overcoming current security challenges, the Speaker wishes him long life, sound health and peace of mind.
