Ex- President Obasanjo calls for Unity as16 Plateau sacked Assembly PDP Members offer one year thanksgiving Service.

Ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo has called  on Christians to prioritize unity of purpose as the panacea for effective growth and development in the society.

Former President Obasanjo, made this known today Sunday 1st December, 2014 during a thanksgiving service organized by the 16 Plateau State House Assembly PDP members, one year after their sacked by the Appeal Court, held at the Church of Christ In Nation (COCIN) Headquarters, Jos.

Obasanjo stated that in any human endeavor without unity no progress can be achieved, adding that peace, security, love, justice, and equity is fundamental for sustainable development to thrive.

Furthermore, the former  Nigeria leader commended Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang for providing leadership on the pillar of equity and fair of God.

The 10th State Assembly Lawmakers alongside 5 House ofRepresentatives and 2 Senators from Plateau under the platform of PDP Appellate Court in Abuja nullified their elections between October and November, 2023.

The situation which many legal practitioners both national and international described as, "miscarriagement of Justice."

However, Obasanjo charged sacked legislators to remain focus, resolute, and determined in future agitations noting that, "adversity is very difficult but is meant to strengthen you...."

Governor Caleb Mutfwang acknowledged that true believers are known in times of adversity. He said if your not strong in Christ when the wing of adversity blows it will fling you.

Speaking on behalf of 16 former Lawmakers, former speaker of the House, Rt. Hon. Mathew Sule as well as Hon. Ishaku Maren, member representing Bokkos constituency, confirmed they were in the Church to fulfill the scriptural obligation which says in whatever situation you found yourself give thanks to God.

"Ever since our removal from office sometimes last year between October and November, 2023, by the Appeal Court the Lord has remained faithful to us.

"We consider what has happened to us as a divine arrangement of God. And as you can see all of us were standing in our feet is a divine grace of God.

"Even though one of us was kidnapped but release unharmed. Were all alive and sound, the Lord has been faithful and we know the future is bright..."

They appreciates the Church for praying for government, and also Governor Mutfwang for accommodating them.

Remember immediately after the Appeal Court sacking, Governor Mutfwang appointed them as liaison officers of their various constituencies.
