Rotary donates classroom desk to primary schools in Jos

President Rotary club of Jos Central, Rotarian Sam Ede has said the club has plan to donate class room desk to four schools in Plateau state.

Rotarian Ede stated this while handing over the desk at St Theresa RCM primary school and at RCM primary school Kabong.


The Rotary club Jos Central filled-in two classroom each at St Theresa boys primary school and RCM Kabong primary school both in Jos north.

Rotarian Ede said purchase of the desk presented to the schools was made possible through individual contributions by the club members.


On his part, the executive chairman universal basic education (UBE) Plateau state Prof Mathew Sule, appealed to groups and spirited individuals to emulate the Rotary club for the good gesture done the schools.

The Plateau UBE boss thanked Rotary club of Jos Central, for the gesture done the benefiting schools, 

Prof. Sule said the classroom desk presented to the schools shall enable conducive learning environment for the pupils.


Sule revealed that public primary schools in rular areas are suffering untold hardship due to lack of adequate teaching aids.

He however said Plateau state government has plan taking delivery of 43670 desk to primary schools within the next few weeks.


Head teacher at St Theresa boys primary school Victoria Jamang in an appreciation speech, thanked the Rotary club of Jos Central for good gesture to her school.

She assured that the desk shall be maintained, and used for the purpose it's meant.
