PDP lacks moral compass to call for Magashi's sacking, says BCO

PDP lacks moral compass to call for Magashi's sacking, says BCO

The Buhari Campaign Organization (BCO), Sunday said the minister of defence, Major General Bashir Magashi (rtd), has not in any way, "abdicated," his respindobilties, of administrating the security achitecture of Nigeria, as against the political gymics of the People's Democratic Party (PDP's), recent statement calling for the, "sacking," of the minister.

The BCO's National Coordinator Alhaji Danladi Pasali, said in a press release, that the PDP lacks the moral compass to call for Magashi's sacking.

He said the PDP, has for the umpteenth time deliberately, decided to pick the minister out of context, in show of their mere political quackmere, politicising the country's security situation, which they failed to manage having worsening it in their 16 years of mis-governance.

"For the record the PDP, should have appreciated that the minister was trying to encourage Nigerians, to be firm and cowardless of either the bandits, or insurgents, thereby contributing to the efforts of our able men and officers of the security operatives, than mischievously castigating the minister and went further calling for his sacking," it further said.

The BCO said, General Magashi's thoughts that, “It is the responsibility of everybody to keep alert and to find safety when necessary. But we shouldn’t be cowards," does not meant to say our security are uncapabale of defending their co-citizens, and that his assertion that, “Our own duty is to ensure that no Nigerian is hurt, and we are capable of protecting the integrity of this nation and we’ll continue to do it even though we are so stretched,” do not in any way connotes that he has abdicated his responsibility.

"On the issue resources to fight insecurity, the PDP should not hastily forget that, Nigeria's resources to the tune of $2.3bn meant for our security were mercilessly shared for the 2015 electioneering under the watch of the PDP led federal government, a situation that has made us where we are, battling with its bad-governance, which has remain greenly fresh in the minds of Nigerians," it said.

According to it had the PDP, did what was rightly expected of it, providing good governance, our security situation would have been so awesome to write home about, alas, the contrary is today in the opposite.

"It is further on record that amidst dwendling resources, the Buhari led administration is doing far better than the 16 years of the PDP's misgovernanace, in terms security equipment and personell welfare.

It is instructive, to state that going by the PDP's antecedents, it lacks the moral compass to call for the sacking of the minister of defence, Major General Bashir Magashi (rtd)," it said.
