Rt. Hon. J. L. Ramnap Mni set to mark 50th birthday celebration offset one month COOPER (KOFA) Primary school Staff Salary......Paid WAEC fee to 18 graduating Students of JESIL


Ahead of Saturday 1st of February 2025, to officially mark her 50th birthday celebration, the former Plateau State Deputy speaker and member representing Langtang South State Constituency in the Plateau State House of Assembly Rt. Hon. Joyce Lohya Ramnap Mni, has yesterday Monday, January 27th, 2025, officially launched her foundation, the Joyce Educational and Empowerment Foundation (JEEF), in a heartfelt ceremony which took place in  Reak Community of Bwarat District, Langtang North Local Government Area of Plateau  State. At the unveiling event which was attended by members, friends, and distinguished guests.
Rt. Hon. Ramnap Mni first port of call was at  Cooper Memorial Nursery School in Langtang. The visit marked a significant moment as she spent time with the pupils and reminisced about her own experiences at the school, which she had attended 45 years ago.

Hon. Ramnap was warmly welcomed by the school’s Headmistress, Mrs. Grace Dindul Solomon, who expressed her gratitude for the visit and took the team on a tour of the school, showcasing its facilities and interacting with the students. In celebration of the foundation’s launch and her milestone achievement of reaching the "fifth floor" of life, Hon. Ramnap distributed writing materials to the pupils and teachers.

During her speech, Hon. Ramnap shared fond memories of her time at Cooper Memorial Nursery and Primary School. "Cooper Memorial was the best school in Langtang North, with predominantly white teachers, as it was founded by a white missionary, Rev. Cooper Herbert" she recalled. She also highlighted the dedication of the nannies who had worked at the school for decades, praising their unwavering commitment and hard work.

The students expressed their admiration by reciting a touching birthday message for Hon. Ramnap. Afterward, they shared a birthday cake together, creating a heartwarming moment for all involved.

Speaking with the press, Mrs. Solomon appreciated Hon. Ramnap for her generosity, revealing that she had personally paid the November salaries of all 18 staff members at the school. Mrs. Solomon also announced that Hon. Ramnap had pledged to return and improve the school’s infrastructure.

Rev. Daniel Dakwat, representing the RCC Langtang, expressed gratitude to Hon. Ramnap and the JEEF team, praying for safe travels as they continued their journey.

Hon. Ramnap was also accompanied by some of her former classmates on a visit to Mrs. Vongcir Celina Benjamin, the former headmistress of Cooper Memorial. The 91-year-old educator was overjoyed to see her former students and offered her blessings, urging them to live righteous lives in anticipation of Christ's return.

The main unveiling ceremony took place in Reak Community at JESIL Nursery, Primary, and Secondary School. The students of JESIL warmly received the JEEF team, and the event was skillfully anchored by Mr. Aminci, the Public Relations Officer of the Local Government Commission, and Mr. Shedrack Ponjing Amos, a teacher at JESIL School.

Mrs. Lucia Ado, a Board of Trustees (BOT) member of JEEF, presented various educational materials to JESIL School, including writing materials, report cards, textbooks, and more. She emphasized the importance of using these resources wisely. Additionally, the foundation sponsored the registration of all 18 students at JESIL for the SSCE exams, at a cost of N810,000. The registration fees were presented by the foundation's Secretary, Mr. Selnan Lar.

Rev. Hosea Mwanbong, who delivered a message from the book of Hosea 4:1-6, linked the foundation’s efforts to the importance of knowledge in society, highlighting the significant impact that education can have on a nation's future.

Students Dorcas Monday and Nanfe Falum recited poems, “Ambition” and “Do It Now,” respectively, adding a cultural touch to the ceremony.

Mr. Zwalcir Lohbut, BOT Chairman of JESIL School, commended Hon. Ramnap for her contributions to the community and for making a lasting impact. He also called for increased inclusivity in the school’s activities.

Mr. Chaven Bongkat Wuyep, Chairman of Reak Community Development, thanked Hon. Ramnap’s mother, Mrs. Nimbang Selbyen, for founding JESIL School, which has greatly improved access to education in the Reak area. He also promised to organize the community to plant more trees around the school.

In her address, Hon. Ramnap expressed gratitude to God for her life and the opportunity to contribute to society. She shared that the JEEF Foundation was launched to commemorate her 50th birthday and pledged to continue supporting educational initiatives. She also thanked the press, her classmates, political supporters, the JEEF team, and the community for their support.

Among the dignitaries present at the event were Hon. Moses Dinfa Fanap, commissioner 2 of the House of Assembly Commission, Miss Sakmicit Solomon of PRTV, Barr. Nanchip Dasam, Hon. Ponnak Ezekiel Wazhi, former TIC Secretary of Langtang South, and many others.

The event marked a memorable and significant day for the community, as Hon. Joyce Lohya Ramnap’s foundation took a major step towards empowering the next generation.
