Dr. Audu emerge Plateau NMA Chairman with 244 votes 


The Plateau State Chapter of the Nigeria Medical  Association (NMA) election has come and gone with the emergence of Dr Bapiga'an William Audu who has returned elected as the Chairman of the Association, in a keenly contested election which took place yesterday Friday 22nd July,2022 at Eliel Centre , Rayfield, Jos.


In a result signed by Dr Christopher Sabo Yilgwan, the Returning Officer and Chairman Electoral Committee of the Nigeria Medical Association (NMA) and witnessed by Dr Dawel Kwande Solomon, Secretary Electoral Committee, Dr Magdelene Irozoru, Member Electoral Committee and Dr Fumilayo Yomo Olugbodi Member Electoral Committee, Dr Bapiga'an William Audu polled 244 votes to beat his closest contestant, Dr.Mrs Nankling Micheal Lamu with 195 votes. Dr Kwis Samuel came third with 126 votes while Dr Mbwas Isaac Mashor scored 105 votes.


In the race for the Secretary of the NMA Plateau State, Dr Mawun Stephen Lukden was elected with 373 votes and Dr Cornelius Gofung scored 296 votes.
The position of the Public Relations Officer of the NMA Plateau State went to Dr Istifanus Bintum Bako with 422 votes while Dr Samuel Atsen got 241 votes.
The positions of the Vice Chairman, Assistant Secretary, Treasurer and Financial Secretary were unopposed and hence returned elected.
Officers so returned elected at the NMA Plateau State elections 2022 includes:
1. Chairman: Dr Bapiga'an William Audu
2. Vice Chairman: Dr Ayo Aladeshuyi
3. Secretary: Dr Mawun Stephen Lukden
4. Treasurer: Dr Suchi Nanret Kyeswet
5. Financial Secretary: Dr Alobu Walter Emeka
6. Public Relations Officer: Dr Istifanus Bintum Bako
